DUG | Potato drink | Unsweetened 1L | Green Heads
The unsweetened drink DUG is a favorite product of chefs. It works in both sweet and savory dishes, and its higher fat profile allows it to be used like milk to make white sauces, curries, pasta sauces and countless other delicious dishes. It never separates, even in your coffee or tea. You just have to try it to believe it.
Why is it that DUG drinks are so much more sustainable than other plant-based alternatives on the market? It has a lot to do with the properties of the main character's ingredients, potatoes. In addition, potato protein does not contain any of the 14 most common allergens, making it well tolerated and versatile.
TWICE MORE EFFICIENT LAND USE
Land suitable for growing food is limited worldwide. It is therefore important to use it efficiently, e.g. to get as much food as possible per square meter. Growing potatoes is actually twice as efficient as growing oats in terms of land use.
67% LOWER CLIMATE FOOTPRINT
If you compare milk with the potato-based alternative, the climate footprint of the potato drink is significantly lower. Switching to a potato-based alternative actually reduces the climate impact by about 67%.
96% LESS WATER
Compared to almonds, potatoes need much less water to grow. Using products with higher water efficiency, such as potatoes, helps conserve water to prevent water scarcity and drought.
But potatoes are also advantageous for other reasons:
FULL OF ANTIOXIDANTS AND NUTRIENTS
Forget lettuce, apples or tomatoes. Some types of potatoes contain as many antioxidants as blueberries. In addition, potatoes contain almost all the nutrients that a person needs. This means that you can live almost exclusively on potatoes! They are a perfect mixture of proteins, vitamins, minerals, fiber and carbohydrates. 100g of potatoes = 1/3 of the daily requirement of vitamin C. The only thing you would need to add are vitamins A and D, which are not found in potatoes.
POTATOES ARE NOT JUST FULL OF FAST CARBS
Contrary to popular belief, different types of potatoes have different glycemic index (GI) values. Varieties such as Asterix, Gala, Inova, Cerisa, Amandine have a lower GI. If you let them cool after cooking, their GI values will decrease even more.
AWARD WINNING AND DELICIOUS
Did you know that DUG is already an award-winning drink? At the recent World Food Innovation Awards, DUG placed first and second in two important categories.
When DUG was created, it was extremely important to its inventors that you could use it just like any other milk. Whether you pour it into coffee or tea, bake or cook, DUG never separates. This makes it the perfect everyday alternative to any dairy or plant-based drink.
